KEY STAT | “Tesla challenger” Nio logged a total of over 621 million miles

Sequoia-backed Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Nio said today that its vehicles have totaled a mileage of over 621 million miles (one billion kilometers), the company announced through its official WeChat account.

It took Nio, which delivered its first model in 2018, more than a hundred days to hit the first 100 million kilometers benchmark. Whilst for the the same amount of mileage, from 900 million to one billion kilometers, Nio said in a WeChat account post that it only took 33 days to achieve, since more vehicles were delivered over the past two years.

When Tesla last released its official total mileage in 2016, it was 3 billion miles (4.8 billion kilometers). The US brand delivered its first EV in around 2012.

Tesla spent almost five years to log 3 billion miles, in comparison, Nio took three years to accumulate 621 million miles.

Currently, there’re three EV models available for sale on Nio’s website.
